HOLLYWOOD

** Lucy Lawless, a woman at ease with life
03.08.2002
Lucy Lawless is a picture of motherhood as she breastfeeds her baby while wearing fishnet stockings.
The Xena star and mother of three looks sexy and at ease in this poster
produced to highlight World Breastfeeding Week. And that is the irony of
the picture, says the woman who came up with the idea.
Sian Burgess, a breastfeeding advocate for Women's Health Action, says
people are bombarded with the "sexual breast".
"We have breasts in the front page of women's magazines but we don't
have the functioning, lactating breast portrayed that way." These breasts were portrayed in a weird, frumpy, hippy or unusual way.
She hoped the sexy poster of the TV star breastfeeding her youngest son,
Judah Tapert, would encourage women to breastfeed. Research showed 98
per cent of women wanted to breastfeed when they were pregnant but by
the time the child was six months old fewer than 7 per cent were exclusively breastfeeding.

** From AFP, quoting
Dominion-Post:
Lucy Lawless, the persona behind the television series "Xena:
Warrior Princess" is using her striking assets to promote World
Breastfeeding Week which begins Thursday.
As Xena she became known for the bold leather bodice costume used to
fend off mythical forces of evil. Now she stars quietly breastfeeding her three-month-old son, Judah,
the Dominion-Post newspaper reported. Lawless features on a poster to be circulated throughout New Zealand
to promote breastfeeding.
More than 120 countries are expected to take part in the World Breastfeeding Week activities.

Lawless: A long-rumored contender for the
role, the Xena:
Warrior Princess star already has played an Amazon royal who
consorts with Greek gods. And since her Xena character always
displayed lesbian leanings, Lawless shouldn't have any trouble
fitting in on the females-only Paradise Island!

And wasn't there something REALLY familiar about the Punk Rock Girl who, when asked about Spidey, purrs, "Guy with eight hands. Sounds hot"? That's because it was an incognito superhero:
Lucy Lawless, whose show Xena: Warrior Princess was exec produced by Raimi.

that's Lucy Lawless from "Xena, Warrior Princess"
(and a friend of Raimi's) in a cameo talking about how handsome
Spider-Man is during the audience-reaction comments. Raimi's
brother, Ted, also appears as a yes-man for the pushy publisher of
the Daily Bugle who wants to discredit Spider-Man.

Message
from Lucy regarding the Kevin Smith trust fund
"I've been wanting
to thank all those nice people who care about Kevin and gave money
at the convention. I wanted to say that I'm sorry that a place for
their money to go wasn't arranged sooner. It was simply that the
people who were arranging it were so close to Kevin and needed
time to support his wife and family. I want the fans to know they
weren't being ignored. I don't want them to feel disrespected.
Tell them I'm sorry I haven't sent word. Every day I say I've got
to write a letter and I'm just out of words. I know that his wife
and children will take a great deal of heart of how much Kevin
meant to people out there that they don't even know. It's going to
help them through this tough time. Please thank everyone so much
for me."
